2023 Toronto International Youth Dance Festival
This year is the 10th Dance Festival, and this dance competition is not just a competition on the stage, we provide a platform for dancers to learn from each other and share their experiences through various activities and exchanges. The dancers had the opportunity to interact with their peers and build deep friendship and cooperation.
About Toronto International Youth Dance Festival
Toronto International Youth Dance Festival is a multi-cultural celebration of culture and diversity through the art of dancing. Started by the Canada International Dance Culture Association in 2014 in the heart of Canada, it serves as a medium to promote, develop and exchange knowledge between all people of all backgrounds. More importantly, it is an opportunity for children to express themselves, while learning to be a part of this growing family that enriches us all. This is an inviting and welcoming environment, and our participants range anywhere from local groups to international participants from other countries!
We encourage friends from all age groups and backgrounds to join this multi-genre dance fest where the competition comes second and the fun comes first!
Competition Flow

Global Video Audition
We will conduct a global video audition at the beginning of the competition, and participants will need to include a link to the video when they fill out the registration form. Entry fees will be paid as appropriate. Sign up and receive 2 free tickets to the dance festival.

Audition Results
The results of the audition will be announced by July 10. Participants will be notified of their selection and will enter the final round.

Finals
The finals will be divided into two days, August 5 for single, duo and trio dances, and August 6 for group dances and the awards ceremony. Time are 12:00pm-3:30pm. The finals will be held in the theater and participants will be required to pay the fees.

Our mission is to create a dance community among today's global youth. We want to break the boundaries and build connections between local ethnic communities through dancing.
We strive to provide a platform for dance enthusiasts to come together to fuel their passion.
About the Competition
This year, we are bringing dancers together to perform live in a theatre in front of judges. After a hard year, we are excited to get the dancers on stage where they belong. Due to the circumstances, the audience will be required to watch the competition from the comfort of their own homes. We encourage anyone from any age group and background to join us.

Age Group: 6-25
Dance Type: All types are welcome
Dance form: Solo, Duet, Trio and Group
Submissions are accepted from all over the world.
Dance Categories
Classical, Modern/Contemporary, Acro Tricks, Ballet, Ballet Pointe, DemiCharacter, Character, Interpretive, Hip Pop, Tap, Modern, Musical Theater,National, Open, Jazz, Lyrical Jazz.
Music
Music should be sent by email at least 2 weeks before the event date totiydancefestival@gmail.com. All music must be labelled with Performer Name(s). A separate MP3 file of the song used during the performance must be included with your submission. We will be editing the music on top of the submitted video recording to replace music if the audio recording is low quality. Video Submissions should be sent to tiydancefestival@gmail.com
Awards Ceremony
Our Dance Competition and Awards Ceremony is our professionally judged dance competition that gives awards to the best dance routines. Our judges are professional dancers from a diverse background that have years of experience in the dance community. The competition will be a full day event that will begin with the dance performances and end with the awards ceremony. All performers will be presented with an award to celebrate their achievements.We will then be presenting our competitive awards to the top performers.
